The Three Pillars of Success

What the ED needs to know about the Product:

Running a Safe, High-Quality Community

In this class, you'll learn how to manage day-to-day operations with confidence.

We’ll cover how to ensure your community is safe, compliant, and running smoothly.

This class is about the nuts and bolts of daily community management. You’ll go beyond checklists and learn how to establish a rhythm of safe, compliant, high-quality operations. We cover state regulations, audit preparation, safety protocols, and the systems that keep a building humming. Expect case studies on real compliance failures (and how to avoid them), along with practical playbooks for maintaining standards across housekeeping, dining, and resident care.

Pillar 2: Pesos

Mastering the Numbers

In this section, you’ll learn how to own the financial side of being an ED.

We’ll break down the P&L into plain language, show you how to build and manage a budget, track occupancy trends, and make smart decisions that actually drive profitability without cutting corners.

The financial side of leadership isn’t just about spreadsheets, it’s about making decisions with impact. In this class, you’ll learn to interpret a P&L, create and manage budgets, and use occupancy data to drive real results. We’ll explore scenarios like adjusting staffing without sacrificing care, forecasting for seasonal fluctuations, and explaining financials to owners or boards in plain English. You’ll leave with both the technical skills to manage the numbers and the judgment to use them responsibly.

Pillar 3: Publics

Leading People with Presence

This pillar is all about the human side of being an Executive Director.

You’ll practice how to inspire and coach staff, partner with families, and represent your community. You’ll also learn how to sell with integrity and carry yourself with true executive presence.

This class centers on the human side of the role. You’ll develop tools for building a culture of accountability and care, navigating tough conversations with families, and leading teams through change or crisis. We’ll cover staff development, recruitment and retention strategies, and the art of selling with integrity. A major focus is on executive presence: how to walk into any room with staff, regulators, or families— and project credibility with confidence.
